Community & Rural Development
  • Indira Awaas Yojana

    Description

    The objective of IAY is primarily to provide grant for construction of houses to members of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, freed bonded labourers and also to non-SC/ST rural poor below the poverty line.

  • National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)

    Description

    The NSAP will include, for the time being, three benefits as its components, viz. (i) National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS), (ii) National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), and (iii) National Maternity Benefit Scheme (NMBS).

  • Watershed Development

    Description

    The Watershed approach has conventionally aimed at treating degraded lands with the help of low cost and locally accessed technologies such as in-situ soil and moisture conservation measures, afforestation etc. and through a participatory approach that seeks to secure close involvement of the user-communities.

  • Meghalaya Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MREGS)

    Description

    The primary objective of the Scheme is to provide livelihood security to the households in rural areas of the notified districts/ areas by providing not less than 100 (one hundred) days of guaranteed wage employment in every financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled and manual work.

  • Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP)

    Description

    The Government of Meghalaya have introduced a new programmze under the name and style of "Special Rural Works Programme" during the year 1990-91, for implementation of development schemes Assembly-Constituency wise, with the active cooperation and participation of the people which is being funded by allocating and channelising a certain percentage of the rural component of the annual State Plan outlay of development sectors whereby such allocated funds are equally distributed amongst the Assembly Constituencies excluding Urban Assembly Constituencies.

Education
  • Maulana Azad National Scholarship for Meritorious Girl Students Belonging to Minorities

    Description

    To recognize, promote and assist meritorious Girl students belonging to national Minorities who can not continue their education without financial support.

  • Meghalaya Tribal Students Book Grant (Post-Matric Education) Rules, 1982

    Description

    To give financial assistance to meritorious tribal students of Meghalaya for purchase of books required for their studies in courses other than technical and vocational courses in any recognized institution in India including the State of Meghalaya.

  • Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)

    Description

    The Schemes is to provide quality education for all children at the elementary level between the age group of 6-14 years, including the Children with Disabilities and also to covered all the out of school children in the State as a whole.

  • Financial Support To The Students of NER for Higher Professional Courses

    Description

    The Secretary, NEC is pleased to make the following rules to regulate the grant of stipends and book grants to the students of the NE region undergoing studies in different disciplines at different levels in institutions inside as well as outside the North East but within the country as specified hereinafter.

Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs
  • National Food Security Act, 2013

    Description

    The National Food Security Act, 2013 is an Act of the Parliament of India which aims to provide subsidized food grains to 77.79% of the total population in the rural areas and 50.87% of the total population in the urban areas as per the 2011 Census figures in the State of Meghalaya.
