About the Department
The office of the District Statistical Officer deals with the collection and compilation of Statistical data. We have the Agriculture Section in which the Field Asstitants visits villages to conduct Crop Cutting Esperiment on various crops, such as Winter Paddy, Ginger, Turmeric, Summer Potato and Maize. We also have the Price Section, in which the Sub-Inspector of Statistics attached in the C & RD Blocks collect the Monthly Prices of Essential Commodities, Food & Non-Food items. Data, so collected is then send to the Directorate at Shillong.
