About the Department
The office of the District Public Ralations Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat is a branch office of the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Meghalaya, Shillong. The main function of the office is to disseminate information on the programmes and policies of the Government through Press Release. The office also carries out the work to provide Public Address System and Press Coverage on every Government functions.
The office also conducts a Special Programme known as Special Interactive Programme annually. This programme is conducted in remote areas in which line department are given a platform to provide information on the availability of Schemes and also the implementation of various Schemes available therein. This office organizes the programme in consultation with the Deputy Commissioner of the District.
